Larry MartinezAssociate Director
Larry Martinez first walked into The Parish on May 31, 1994 as part of the West Side Drug-Free Youth Team. The following year, he enrolled as a student at The Parish’s school, La Academia, and graduated in 2000. After a 2-year hiatus, Larry joined the staff as the Office Manager and Community Resource Coordinator, and has since held many positions. Today, Larry is the Associate Director of The Parish, and oversees the programs in our Hunger & Nutrition focus area.
Leo AlirezDirector, College View Community Center
As a Denver native, former gang member, and Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC III), Leo is uniquely qualified to serve individuals at risk of or currently struggling with gang ties and substance abuse, while also tackling larger systemic problems that lead to these outcomes. Leo holds an honorary PhD in Human Services and a BA in Addictions, is certified through the National Gang Crime Research Center, and is recognized as a leading gang expert in Colorado.
Emmitt joined The Parish as controller in June 2017. Previously he had been the VP for Finance and Administration for the Silicon Valley Education Foundation in San Jose, CA for 5 years after retiring from a 35 year career with Ernst & Young. He has a BA in Economics from Occidental College and an MBA from Stanford University. Emmitt focuses on accounting, operations, and budgeting to support the mission of The Parish.
Jessica FranklinDevelopment & Grants Manager
Jessica secures funds through grant writing, research, special events, and donor engagement. Prior to joining The Parish in February 2018, she worked for a statewide policy advocacy organization and a youth mentoring and gang intervention/prevention agency, accruing over 16 years of nonprofit experience. She has a BA in Journalism, Public Relations and a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from Regis University.
